have you thought about building homes?

Our framework gives those new to building homes an affordable, easy way to get into the business.

Why build new homes?

Huge Shortage of Homes Available

If you pay any attention to the news, you probably already know there is a shortage of homes available.  The Open Book Build house plan fits the affordable price category that is massively under supplied.

Nice Profit Margins

Based on our as-built costs of the Open Book Build prototype home, expected profit margins can range anywhere from $30-$50k per house built and sold.

An Extension to Existing Business

Existing trade contractors and remodelers are perfect for the Open Book Build framework.  Why?  Because you've been building homes for years...you just haven't built one from the ground up.  Our proprietary tools make the transition much easier.

We're an open book

What Builder Would Give Away Their Tools & Secrets?

You're probably thinking, "What builder in their right mind would give away their proprietary tools and resources to help others build homes?"   The truth is, we're doing it to help solve the housing shortage in America.  And because we know that it's not just the big companies that can build a quality home.  So, we're helping to level the playing field so others can compete with the big boys.

"But I Have no idea where to start?"

From Small Contractor to a Ground up Builder

It may sound like a giant leap to go from tackling small remodeling projects or performing a specific trade to building a home from the ground up.  Having built a couple thousand homes I can tell you it's really not all that complicated.  As long as you have a proven framework for planning and managing the project it's totally achievable.

Back when I was an executive with a regional home builder, one of my tasks was to hire and train people to build homes.  I can honestly say the best project managers were people that had experience around the construction site.

The good news is, we've designed our Open Book Build resources and house plan to make this process much easier to tackle.  Let's take a quick look...

  • Online Course - complete instruction showing how to manage the process from lot selection to final inspection
  • House Plan - not all house plans are created equal.  We designed this plan to be easier to build...we've simplified the structure and included lots of detail on the plan
  • Open Book Build Kit - From an easy to use proven schedule to the actual material quantities used in the prototype home, these tools really take away the guesswork
  • Actual Budget - By sharing our actual as-built budget, we're trying to take some of the mystery out of how much this will cost
